After getting diagnosed, I was starved for information, getting to understand myself better.
It was an overwhelming experience. Having to read lengthy books, when their essence could be summed up in a few paragraphs. Sometimes, the way an idea was presented to me in various blog or forum posts just didn’t click, and it took me a long while to really “get it” and rephrase it in a way that made sense to me. The most helpful sources were the ones that explained things in plain English, with anecdotal evidence.
In this blog, I am hoping to present what I’ve learned in the way I wish I found when I was seeking it out.
Recently, I have spent a lot of time on Reddit, on the ADHD and Mindfulness sub, and many people found my posts there helpful. However, I find the same questions popping up again and again, and one of my goals is to have a simple article to show them, stating the same things that other people with the same problems found useful. If it helps even one person have a better life, the purpose of this blog is fulfilled.
Lastly, I want to document my ideas so I can read back on them in my own moments of despair. To remind myself of what works for me, and not give up when feeling overwhelmed.
